Airmail plane and Andes mule caravan poster

Airmail plane and mule caravan poster, “Andes”

A small silver propeller-driven airmail plane crosses a pass in the Andes, above a great statue of Christ with open arms standing on its stone pedestal. On the winding path below, a caravan of mules loaded with sacks moves along with its muleteer. This Andes poster brings together two ways of carrying the mail, by air and over the mountain. The orange-pink peaks and purple valleys are bathed in dawn light. The title “Andes” accompanies this crossing.

An Andean adventure for an office or a library

Vertical and warm-toned, it suits an office, a library, a living room or a traveler’s bedroom. Its pinks and purples stand out on a white or sand-colored wall, and pair well with leather, Andean weavings, dark wood and maps. It can join other aviation or South America posters. It makes a gift for a pilot, a reader of aviator stories, a traveler back from Chile or Argentina, or a lover of great mountains.
